03Full-Stack Web Development
Financial Management ApplicationFinTrack
A responsive expense tracker (dashboard, transactions and insights) on a React, REST API, Express and MongoDB architecture.

01 Overview: One place to see where money goes
A full-stack financial management web application for tracking income and expenses. Its frontend, FinTrack, brings together a dashboard, a transactions workspace and an insights view.
The application follows a React → REST API → Node.js / Express → MongoDB architecture, and the frontend is deployed on Vercel.
02 Problem: Personal finances end up scattered
Income and spending tend to live across notes, apps and statements, which makes it hard to see the overall picture.
The goal was a single, clear place to record transactions and understand spending at a glance.
03 What I Built: Dashboard, transactions and insights
- A dashboard summarising total balance, income and expenses, with a balance-trend chart and spending by category.
- Transaction management with create, read, update and delete, plus filtering and sorting.
- Role-based access: an Administrator can change data, while a Viewer has read-only access.
- Insights that highlight the highest spending categories and compare months.
- REST APIs with MongoDB integration on a Node.js and Express backend.
- A responsive layout for mobile, tablet and desktop.
04 Technical Approach: A classic, well-separated stack
- 01React.jsInterface: dashboard, transaction tables and charts.
- 02REST APIJSON over HTTP between the client and the server.
- 03Node.js / ExpressRoutes and application logic.
- 04MongoDBPersistent storage for financial records.
The deployed frontend is built with React, TypeScript and Vite, with charts rendered using Recharts, and hosted on Vercel.
